Donating Baskets added by Mrs. McCracken
Happy Monday, everyone!

We are in need of 12-in baskets that we can use as props for our color guard during the show. If you have any baskets that you are not using, we would love to take them off your hands. We may be spray-painting them, so they will not be returned.

Send your basket with your student, or you can bring it to an evening rehearsal, so we can see if it will work with the effect we are trying to achieve. Thank you!!

Happy Summer, Everyone!

I hope you have all had a great June, and hope that your July is wonderful! I have posted parts and mp3's to our 2011 marching show! All you need to do is go to www.coronadoband.com, click on Charms Music, then either login under the Student Area Password, or go right to Handouts and Files. Select 2011 Marching Band Show, and you can find the files. To print your part, scroll through the pages, and print only the page (or pages) that is for your instrument. That way you aren't printing every instrument's part when you only need the one for you!

Section Leaders and Drum Majors can Select the file folder marked 2011 Full Scores DM's and SL's in addition to their parts in the 2011 Marching Band folder.

If you have any problems finding the files, please email me back at dsmccrac@interact.ccsd.net. I am checking emails periodically, and will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you all for your patience as we uploaded the files! Happy practicing, and we will see you very soon!!

Incoming 9th Grade Parent Meeting! added by Mrs. McCracken
Just a quick reminder that the Incoming 9th Grade Parent Meeting is tonight, Thursday, June 2, at 6pm. We will meet in the GYM (not the theatre) and are combining with Athletic Night. We will be on hand to provide a quick handout, and to answer questions! Incoming Freshmen Auditions added by Mrs. McCracken
Just a reminder for all Freshmen: Auditions for the 2011-2012 Marching Band will be either on May 31, June 1, or June 2 at 3pm. PERCUSSIONISTS will need to be available from 3-5pm on Tuesday, May 31.

ALSO, all parents are encouraged to attend an incoming 9th grade parent meeting, in conjunction with Athletic Night, beginning at 6pm in the Gym.

Band Banquet added by Mrs. McCracken and Mr. Franke
This year is just flying by!  We are looking forward to our upcoming concerts on May 17 (Jazz Bands I and II), and May 24 (Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony) - both will start at 6:30pm.  In addition to that we are preparing for the Band Banquet, as Darlene Fanizzi mentioned in her email yesterday.  You can now order your banquet tickets by going to www.showtix4u.com!  

In keeping with the annual slide show DVD tradition, we are asking for photos from the school year (from Band Camp up through Festival).  If you took pictures, pick your favorites and either email them to me directly at dsmccrac@interact.ccsd.net, send them on a CD with your student, or give us photos in 'print' form NO LATER THAN MONDAY, MAY 16!  Any pictures received after that date are not guaranteed to appear in the slide show.  

SENIOR STUDENTS/P ARENTS!!!!  We need your baby picture and a senior picture!  We would like to have both NO LATER THAN MONDAY, MAY 16!

Here are the 2011 Band Camp Dates, so you are able to plan your summer!

Percussion and Color Guard - August 8-12, August 15-19, August 22-26.

All NEW Marchers to Coronado High School - August 11-12, August 15-19, August 22-26.

All Returning Marchers to Coronado High School - August 15-19, August 22-26.

All Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and Captains - August 10-12, August 15-19, August 22-26.

Remember that attendance at band camp is required. Students who participate in a CHS Fall Sport will be able to do both successfully! Have a great start to 2011!!
